In keeping with its mission to promote the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, IYASW has created a Community Service program to offer stipends to IYASW Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers (CIYTs) who bring yoga to underserved populations in the region.  We welcome your ideas and hope that you will share them.

 

Community Service Project Ideas:

• teaching in prisons

• teaching veterans

• teaching first responders

• teaching in assisted living facilities

• teaching in homeless shelters

• teaching victims of domestic violence

• teaching faculty or students in public schools 
  ​

IYASW would like to hear from teachers who instruct yoga classes on a volunteer basis. Please send a brief description of those classes to iyengarsw@gmail.com, ATTN: Community Service Coordinator.  Hearing from you will help IYASW develop its Community Service Program, and ideally inspire others to do similar work.
