Carlyn Sikes is a Level 2 CIYT and a Certified Yoga Therapist (CYT).  Having taught, practiced and studied Iyengar Yoga for 25+ years she has worked with many different abilities and levels of students as well as students with different backgrounds in Yoga.

Sirsasana (head balance) is often referred to in yoga texts as the king of the asanas.  This is because of the many health benefits that come from its regular practice.  This asana improves the cardiovascular system, improves breathing and can benefit those that have difficulty sleeping to name a few of the benefits.  This workshop is for those that would like to learn how to do Sirsasana as well as for those that would like to improve this beneficial inversion in your ongoing practice.

Offered in two parts, Part 1, September 21, will focus on asanas that build strength and confidence to balance on your head as well as how to do so safely.  Part 2, September 28, students will have had a week to practice what was learned and will be given the opportunity to ask questions.  Practice will focus on how to include headstands in regular practice.
